A Career Guidance Bureau is functioning well in our College. Its chief objective is to give proper guidance to our students to grow and develop to their maximum. It also aids the students to prepare for competitive examinations such as P.S.C., U.P.S.C., UGC/JRF tests and also for various interviews. Working agenda includes the conducting of seminars on relevant topics, such as ‘Communication Skills’, Personality Development and also Training programme on ‘Group Discussion’ for the benefit of students.

2008-2009

In this academic year the Bureau conducted two classes, one on " How to face an interview" and another one is on "How to prepare resume". Both classes were handled by Mr.Jijy Joseph, the International Trainer of Junior Chambers International. Three aptitude tests were conducted for the placements of final year degree and post graduate students. Out Source Partners International. Ltd.,  Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Ltd., Spectrum Soft Tech Solutions Ltd and Better Careers Placement Solutions conducted campus recruitment and many studetns got placement in the above companies during this year.

2007-2008

 Training programmes were arranged for studetns in association with different departments to develop their soft skills. Campus recruitment programmes were arranged in collaboration with Genpact, TMI First e-DS Solutions Pvt.Ltd., Reliance Communications, SB Global Educational Resources(P) Ltd., apex laboratories Ltd and Corporate Liaisons, Trivandrum. About 50 students got placement. Apart from these, the Placement Cell made arrangement for the students to attend recruitment programmes conducted in other places.

2006-2007

A Training was arranged for final year degree students. Sri. Sreekumar S.C and Sri.K.J.Sudheer of JetKing, Cochin engaged the training sessions. A talk on Employment Opportunities was arranged for the students of B.Sc Mathematics on 28.08.06. Campus Interview was conducted in collaboration with Infoysis, APEX Laboratories and GENPACT on 24-01-2007 and five students were selected. A two day campus orientation programme for BA/B.Com students was arranged by ICFAI on 24 and 25 February 2007.

2005-2006

A Seminar on ‘Career opportunities and Communication Improvement’ was organized in the year 2005-2006. It is also proposed to organize a pre-examination Training for UGC/NET for P.G. students. The Bureau also took initiative in conducting special orientation programmes to the Teaching & Non- teaching staff to enrich them with proper ideas and vision in their mission. A seminar on ‘Call & Response’ to the teaching staff; “How to be a good Teacher” to the teaching staff and “How to be customer friendly” to the members of the non-teaching staff was very effectively organized by this Bureau. Another major achievement of the Bureau is the initiation of a Placement Cell to co-ordinate campus interviews.

                                                             2004-2005


The Bureau was very active in the year 2004-2005, with lots of new programmes Seminars on “Life Guidance” and “Interview Techniques” were conducted under its auspices In the same year two of the staff members participated in a 2-day workshop on ‘Career Guidance & Employment opportunities”, organized by the University Employment Information & Guidance Bureau, CUSAT. Thus, Chennai based Apex Laboratories Ltd. conducted campus interview in 2004-2005 & selected 6 students and Infosys Technologies, Bangalore also arranged a campus interview in 2005-2006 in which 2students were selected and 5 students were selected in the same year by Eureca Forbs, Calcutta.
