The Quiz club aims at developing a healthy competitive spirit among the students of different classes in the college. It conducts a wide range of programmes like debates, inter collegiate Quiz contest etc. The motto is to equip the students to participate in various inter collegiate and general programmes, though it took up other activities later.

2008-2009

The activities of the Quiz Club bagan on 21st August 2009 with a colorful ceremony presided over by Principal .Prof.Joy C.George. Ms.Sijimol ( Secretary) and Mr.Dino Kuriakose ( Joint Secretary) addressed the audience. Weekly meetings arranged on Thursdays gave opportunities to the students to conduct debates, discussions and Quiz Competitions.

The mega event of the Quiz Club, 'Vision-2020', Inter University debate held on 29th of November 2008 witnessed the vibrant youth from various colleges in and around Ernakulam demonstrating their mission and dreams for 2020 A.D. St.Theresa's College Ernakulam won the contest and cash award worth Rs.2000/- SCMS College of Engineering and Technology won the second prize and cash award worth Rs.1000/-. Eminent scientists, IT professionals and academicials constituted the panel of Judges of Vision 2020.

As the in-house programme Quiz Club Conducted inter-departmental Quiz contest, Quiz-2009. The departments of English and Zoology won the first and Second prizes respectively. Sanal Kumar P.V. and Jobin Varghese, members of Quiz Club, came first in the inter collegiate Quiz contest held under the joint auspicious of Energy club and BPCL in connection with the Energy Conservation Day.

2007-2008

The formal inauguration of the Quiz Club took place on 24th July, 2007.Prof.Joy C.George, the Principal delivered the key note address and Prof Jose Joseph offered felicitation. In association with the Alumno and Superannuated Staff Association of the college, the Quiz Club conducted 'SPONTAGE' the inter-collegiate Quiz Contest on 7th September , 2007. Eleven teams participated in the screening test. Sree Sankara Sanskrit University bagged the first prize in the final round. The in-house programme'The Inter-Departmental Quiz Contest' was held on 5th December, 2007. The departments of Chemistry, English, Zoology and Political stood first, second, third and fourth respectively. Quiz club followed the schedule of Wednesday Meetings meant for news analysis, debates and paper presentations.

2006-2007

Out of Syllabus, Tele-debate shot by Amritha Television

            The leading television channel Amritha T V chose St.Peter’s College to shoot a couple of episodes of their campus-debate Out of Syllabus on 7^th July, 2006. A dozen students from our campus participated in the two debates one on ‘youthfulness in campus’ and the other on the “Loss of Heritage in Kerala”. The debates were telecast on 30^th of July and 27^th of August 2006. 

In-Quest, Intercollegiate Quiz Contest.

A state-level intercollegiate quiz contest IN-QUEST was held on 10 August 2006. Fifteen teams representing various colleges and universities participated and the team from Sree Sankara Sanskrit University, Kalady, emerged the winner.

 ‘Nostalgia’ Antique Exhibition

In connection with the Onam Celebration of the college, Quiz club organised a one day exhibition in the college indoor stadium on 31 August 2006, which invoked a nostalgic feelings for our age old customs and heritage.

A study tour was organised on 25 November to the major eco-tourist zones in and around Ernakulam.

On the occasion of 150^th Birth Anniversary of Raja Ravi Varma, the Indian Master Painter, the club brought out a documentary film “Colours:The Passions of Mind”.The film was shot on 9^th December 2006.

                                                           2005-2006
On the occasion of the golden jubilee celebrations of “Keralappiravi” an exhibition based on the legacy of Kerala entitled, “Niravu-2005”, was conducted. The exhibition was open to the students of adjacent educational institutions and the public. Over 2000 outsiders visited the exhibition. During the second week of December 2005, the members of the Quiz Club arranged an educational tour to Thenmala, the eco-tourist spot near Kollam.

During the academic session the Club conducted a socio-educational survey in six selected campuses of Eranakulam Dist. namely St. Teresa’s College Eranakulm, S.H. College Thevara, U.C. College Aluva, S.S.V College. Irapuram, S.S. College Kalady and St. Peter’s College Kolenchery. Over 1000 students gave responses to the questionnaire based on various academic, economic, psychological and social problems students face.

                                                          2003-2004
The club produced a documentary based on the socio-cultural life style of the people of west Kochi, with the title, “Swapna Theerangalkku Parayuvan”. It was a 42 min. long short film, produced with the financial support of St. Peter’s College Trust, PTA, Rotary Club of Kolenchery and the public. The film was screened in the FILCA film festival at Trivandrum on 3rd and 4th June, 2004. The film was approved by Jeevan Telecasting Corporation.

Another inter-collegiate Quiz programme titled ‘Keraleeyam-2002’, was organized on the occasion of ‘Keralappiravi’, the birth anniversary of Kerala State.

                                                          2001-2002
In connection with the Republic Day celebrations an inter collegiate Quiz Competition was conducted and teams from 12 Colleges participated in the event. Students represented our College in various Quiz competitions and brought laurels to our College.

                                                          2000-2001
An exhibition was conducted during the last week of November on “Millennium Retrospective” based on events which took place since the onset of New Millennium.
