The Department of Tourism runs the Tourism club of the College
on the support and guidelines issued by the District Tourism
Promotion Council (DTPC). The initiative for starting the
club was made in December 2002, and was started during the
year 2003-04. In this club, 50 students were enrolled and
2 teachers were appointed as teacher co-ordinators. The
main objective of Tourism club is to make the younger generation
participate in the developmental activities of tourism.
It is also intended to create awareness about the socio-economic
relevance of tourism for the development of the state. Another
objective of this venture is to make an impression on the
importance and relevance of tourism among the students and
to generate a positive attitude towards tourism.

Academic year 2008-2009
World Tourism Day (September 27) of 2008 was celebrated
with the tribal community of Chinnaparakudy, Adimali- Idukki
District.
Academic year 2007-2008
Tourism Club conducted a Seminar on Role of Women in
Tourism Development, a theme based on WTO's World Tourism
Day. Dr.Jenee Peter' Centre for Heritage studies, Hill
palace was the Resource Person.
Academic year 2006-2007
World
Tourism Day was celebrated on 27 September 2006. A seminar
was organised on ‘Tourism Development in Kerala’.
Sri.Santhosh George Kulangara was the chief guest on the
occasion.

2005’ by arranging ‘Malayalimanka’ and
‘Keralasreeman” competitions.

. More than 30 persons attended the seminar.

Seminar-cum-intractive session on ‘Sustainable Tourism
Development’ conducted by Tourism Club members for
the whole students of the College.
Academic year 2003-04
One day picnic to Neelliyampathi for the tourism club members
during April 2003. A quiz programme based on general awareness
and monuments of national and international importance on
28th February 2003 with attractive prizes for winners. World
Tourism Day was celebrated on 27th September as ‘Samanwaya’.
