2008-2009

The activities of the club for the academic year 2008-2009 were formally inaugurated by the principal Prof.Joy C.George. The meeting was followed by a 'Kaviyarangu'.. 'Rainbow' arranged weekly literary meetings every Monday which saw the blooming of many young talents.

 

2007-2008

The activities of the Club were inaugurated on 10th August, 2007. The Principal Prof.Jy C.George delivered the ianugural address. The meeting was followed by a 'Kaviyarangu'. In connection with the Onam Celebration 'RAINBOW' arranged a special programme 'Aksharappookkalam', at the Seminar Hall. The major event of the club, 'Sameeksha' provided a great exposure to the students of various universities. It was a oneday literary workshlp presided over by the well-known novelist Sri.K.L.Mohana Varma who introduvced the techniques of creative writing and inspired the audience. As the major in-house programme 'RAINBOW' arranged weekly literary meetings every Thursday. 'RAINBOW' paid tributes to the famous literary critic, Prof.M.N.Vijayan and the great writer Sri.Vaikom Muhammed Basheer on 4th October 2007 and 24th January 2008 respectively.

 

2006-2007

Mr.Jayakumar Chengamanad, famous Malayalam poet, inaugurated the club and there was the programme “Kaviyarangu’ in which 15 poets presented their works. The Manuscript Journal ‘RAINBOW’ was released, with the theme rainbow which included 7 poems. In connection with Kerala’s national festival, RAINBOW arranged a literary event (Aksharasadya) on 31 August, 2006. Nine students presented their works both poems and short stories.

Sargotsavam 2006

A series of literary competitions including 18 items like script writing, one act play, film review, literal criticism, cartoon strip, caption, advertisement, journalistic report- Malayalam, English and Hindi was held. Over 200 students participated in Sargotsavam. Mr.Bipin K.Sukumaran of IIIrd BA English won the individual title ’Sargaprathiba’.
