Foundation of “International Bird’s Club unit at St Peter’s College

Birds Club International is a project initiated by the well-known film director Mr. Jayaraj under the umbrella of Jayaraj Foundation. This green initiative aims to create rain groves (miniature forests) in all schools, colleges and public places connecting students and the public through bird watching and thereby reviving Mother Nature and its precious ecosystems.

A unit of Birds Club International was structured in our college by the Department of Zoology. The guidelines of the Club were followed and all necessary arrangements were made by the Zoology Association for initiating the Birds Club Unit of our campus. On 21/12/2021, the Department selected “Naksthravana” located in the college Botanical Garden as the RAINGROVE. On this day, a display board with the name of Birds Club International and its official logo was established here by the Principal Dr. Shaju Varghese. He announced the foundation of the Club and felicitated the function. Dr. Susha T.K Teacher Coordinator of the club and HOD of the department addressed the gathering and explained the vision and mission of this club.
