Film Club

Film club initiates to build a creative platform for students to experience the charismatic charm of cinema, tracing meticulously the aesthetic, technical and socio-cultural dimensions of the artform . Special film exhibitions, discussion forums, debates and resource sessions are conducted to equip students to master the craft of cinema. Film club coordinates many events in association with different departments to familiarize students with the changing faces of contemporary global and regional cinema.

• To enable students to recognise the visual grammar of cinema delineating the significant rational and emotional layers of the work of art.
• To help students develop cultural sensibility to evaluate cinema as a social product which represents linguistic, economic, political and psychological aspects of human conditions.
• To make students understand the critical nature of the relationship between the makers of the cinema and the spectators reading carefully the popular and highly influential industrial face of cinema
• To induce genuine interest in students to make short films maintaining integrity and innovation in craft.
