OTHER PROGRAMMES

Deeksharambh (Student Induction Program) is an orientation programme organized for newly admitted students in the college. It is usually conducted at the beginning of the academic year to help students to smoothly transit into the new academic environment.

The program introduces students to the institution, its vision and mission, academic regulations, facilities, and campus culture. Through interactive sessions, students become familiar with their teachers, departments, support services, and extracurricular opportunities. It also helps them understand important aspects such as discipline, ethical values, time management, and responsible student life. Deeksharambh typically includes motivational talks, orientation sessions, campus tours, interactions with faculty members, and activities that promote teamwork and self-development. Experts may also conduct sessions on mental well-being, career guidance, and skill development.

Deeksharambh 2025, the student induction programme, was conducted from 01 July 2025 to 04 July 2025. The programme commenced at 9:30 a.m. on 01 July 2025 in the College Auditorium with a prayer song. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by the College Principal, Dr. Gean A. Varghese, and the presidential address by Dr. Babu Paul, Chairman of St. Peter’s College Trust. Felicitations were offered by Dr. Jose K. P., Vice Principal of the College, and Mr. Benny P. Varghese, College Office Superintendent. The inaugural session concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sona S. Dev, PTA Secretary of the College.

On 02 July 2025, Dr. Vinoj M. N. introduced the MG FYUGP (Four-Year Undergraduate Programme) to the newly admitted students at the Ruby Jubilee Seminar Hall. On the same day, an Induction Training Programme was conducted by Phoenix Career Mentors for the students at the Golden Jubilee Seminar Hall.

On Day 3 (03 July 2025), an orientation on MDC and Minor courses was organized for the students. This was followed by sessions introducing the activities of NCC, NSS, and the Student Ambassadors representing various institutional cells.

On the final day (04 July 2025), a session was conducted by the Career Guidance Cell, followed by an introduction to the various Add-on and Certificate Courses offered by the college at the Golden Jubilee Seminar Hall. In addition, a session titled “Exploring Knowledge Resources of St. Peter’s College Library” was delivered by Dr. Anat Suman Jose for all the students.

Student data were collected by the respective departments, and each department also organized additional orientation and engagement activities as part of Deeksharambh during the semester.
