Communicative Sanskrit Club
लोकाः समस्ताः सुखिनो भवन्तु ’ (‘May all beings in all the worlds be happy’). This is just one part of a Sanskrit verse. Sanskrit, the language of a civilisation that prays for the welfare of not just itself but the entire creation, is the oldest living language of not only India but the world. It is a treasure trove of literature of unparallelled knowledge and wisdom which, however, has been unfortunately ignored in the commerce of our day-to-day life. The Sanskrit Club was begun in our college, therefore, with a view to promoting the study of the language and fostering an understanding of the nature of its uniqueness.
The birth of the Club was marked by a solemn function held at the Seminar Hall at 10.00 AM on 19-3-2013. The then Principal Prof. Joy K. Paul lit the ceremonial lamp and formally inaugurated the Club. Sri K. Sreenivasan delivered the Presidential Address and Dr. Paul V. Varghese, Head of the Department of Malayalam, and Dr. Meena K. K., Head of the Department of Hindi, offered felicitations.
