Campus Bird Count

The department of Zoology in association with Bird Club International Unit organized the “Campus Bird Count” program on 21.02.2022. Thirty nine young-bird-enthusiasts from different departments, equipped with their binoculars and cameras, identified and documented around 15 species of birds from our campus ( https://ebird.org/checklist/S103486056c).
Mr. Gregory John, alumnus of 2015-18 batch Zoology, an active bird watcher and freelance photographer had participated in the event. He could give field training for the students on observing, identifying and photographing the birds. This event was a part of the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), an annual avian census that marks the whereabouts of millions of birds. After consolidating the data, Mr. Joel Johnson prepared the complete list of birds observed in our campus with their photographs and general description.
