Water Quality Analysis Campaign -2022

Department of Biotechnology organized a ‘Water Quality Analysis Campaign’ in association with the Department of Chemistry and Unnat Bharat Abhyan Program of Kunnathunad Panchayath on the 26th and 27th of April, 2022. The goal of the program is to ensure high-quality drinking water and thereby reduce the occurrence of waterborne diseases in society. The campaign was advertised through a brochure and samples were collected from drinking water sources from the residents of Kunnathunad Panchayath as well as surrounding residents. Student volunteers collected 31 drinking water samples. The campaign began by receiving a water sample from the Principal. Students of the Biotechnology and Chemistry departments participated in the Campaign. The participants were provided with a copy of the results. Higher coliform counts were found in eight samples, prompting the requirement of chlorination of wells. Students helped them with the chlorination procedure.
