Invited lecture

An online lecture on ‘Electron Microscopy- Principles and Applications’ was delivered by Dr. N K Sanil, Principal Scientist, Indian Council of Agricutural Research – Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi on 23/03/2022 at 7 pm through Google meet.

Principal Dr. Shaju Varghese delivered the Principal’s message. The students and faculty from various other Departments like Botany, Physics etc had also participated in the lecture. The lecture started by describing the basics of underlying principle of electron microscopy and slowly progressed into the technique explaining research applications.

The lecture discussed electron micrographic images of several biological samples which made the concept clear. This lecture was indeed a great opportunity to learn about EM technique, which is also a part of the research methodology lessons of current BSc Zoology curriculum. Considering the technical inconvenience for a large number of participants to be present in the online meet, the lecture was streaming live in the official YouTube Channel.
